The Management of University of Ibadan Distance Learning Centre has been relentless in her commitment to the welfare of DLC learners. The flexibility and regular concessions given at different levels attest to this assertion. In the light of the submission above, be aware that issues surrounding graduating learners have been at the forefront of discussions on the table of the DLC Management. The Director has at different times and on various platforms assured that the DLC Board of Examiners meeting would hold this month to consider 2015/2016 final year results.

The procedures for clearing final year learners for graduation is not different from that of the regular mode. Howbeit, the DLC management is working tirelessly to ensure the process is faster. It would be helpful for DLC learners to know that Programmes Units are custodians of academic activities. The Centre is only a platform. In this wise, the first point of clearance is the Examination Boards of the different Programme Units. When the Programme Units clear their respective final year learners for graduation, the results are then presented to the DLCBoard of Examiners (BOE) for approval.

The process does not end here, the Examinations Unit of the University would still have to scrutinize results approved by the DLC BOE before they are recommended for the University of Ibadan Senate approval.

I am delighted to inform you that the DLC BOE meeting held yesterday, Tuesday, October 24, 2017. Five learners made a first class in all. Supplementary 2014/2015 results were also considered at the meeting.

The following Programme Units presented 2015/2016 final year results at the DLC Board of Examiners’ meeting: (1) Library, Archival and Information Studies, (2) Political Science, (3) Teacher Education (supplementary), (4) Communication and Language Art, (5) Social Work, (6) Guidance and Counseling, (7) Psychology, (8) Philosophy and Public Affairs, (9) Special Education, (10) English, (11) Adult Education, (12) Educational Management, (13) Human Kinetics and Health Education, (14) Agric. Extension, and (15) Agronomy

Be assured that relevant units are working assiduously to make sure these results get the ultimate approval in due time. But note that names of 2015/2016 graduating learners will not be in the 2017 convocation Order of Proceedings, except Department of Teacher Education. Teacher Education 2015/2016 final year results were presented to the DLC BOE before the ASUU strike commenced in August, hence, the early approval of the results. Affected learners have been contacted by the Centre to come for their clearance. Also, names of learners whose 2014/2015 final year results have been approved would be in the 2017 Order of Proceedings.

You are hereby implored to exercise patience. The DLC solicits your continued support and understanding. You will be duly communicated upon new developments.
