David E. Okurame is a Professor in the Department of Psychology, University of Ibadan where he earned his PhD in industrial/organizational psychology. Until his appointment as the deputy director (administration), Distance Learning Centre (DLC), he was the deputy coordinator of

 the DLC degree programme in the Department of Psychology. Previously, he had served as examination officer and coordinator of the undergraduate as well as postgraduate (academic) programmes in the same department. He was also a coordinator of the professional Masters in Managerial Psychology (2009/2010 and 2010/2011 sessions) as well as the Masters in Legal, Criminological and Security Psychology programmes of the same department (2012/2013 and 2013/2014 sessions). Prof. Okurame, who was the sub-dean (undergraduate programme) of the Faculty of the Social Sciences between 2009 and 2011, coordinated and captained the Faculty of Law/ Faculty of the Social Sciences unit of the University of Ibadan Community Games between 2007 and 2010. He was a member of his faculty’s standing committee on website as well as the finance and postgraduate committees. Prof. Okurame has served in different capacities in the university, including honorary chess coach to the 2004 University of Ibadan Chess Team, and membership of Senate Committee on General Studies Programme, University of Ibadan Planning Committee for the Nigerian Universities Research and Development Fair, University of Ibadan committee on admission results computation, and the committee on centralization of University Lectures and examinations time-tables. He has published papers in books as well as in local and international journals in the area of mentoring, gender, leadership, work-family interface and career. His hobbies include playing chess and football, reading, and listening to music.
